From Scratch Farm Supportive Services/
Fee For Service Programming

"From Scratch Farm Supports" exists to support adults and teens with developmental disabilities in the Northumberland area.

With Over 23 years in the field of Developmental Services, we’ve created a variety of options at From Scratch Farm Supports to help suit your needs for quality respite care and skill building activities. In the spring of 2022 we launched our day program workshops and special interest clubs. That summer we hosted our first farm based day-camps, featuring week-long sessions of fun and learning, based around farm life, art, movement, music, friends, and memories.

Links to our session descriptions, day camps, and schedule of activities can be found in the drop down bar above, or found below.

Occasional openings exist for "Choose Your Own Adventure" at the farm. This option can be set up as a "one on one support" session for folks who might need a little extra in terms of staffing, or as a session for your (staffed) group to attend. We'll work with you to come up with a fun get-away to the farm for your group.  Email us to find out more about the availability of Choose Your Own Adventure, and check how to choose Your own adventure here.
All our activities and workshops focus heavily on movement, creativity, and nature, and unless the weather is really bad- we are outside for our activities!

Looking for funding?

Passport Funding.
Do you or your adult family member receive Passport Funding?  Passport is a program that helps adults 18 years or older with a developmental disability to participate in their communities and learn new skills. It also helps caregivers of an adult with a developmental disability take a break from their caregiving responsibilities.

Some of the things Passport provides funding for are services and supports so adults with a developmental disability can:

  • take part in community classes or recreational programs (like those offered at From Scratch Farm Supports)

  • develop work, volunteer, and daily life skills

  • hire a support worker

  • create their own life plans (called person-directed planning) to reach their goals

  • get temporary respite for their caregivers

Passport is funded by the Ontario Government and administered by local Passport Agencies.
If you are an adult (over 18 years old) with a developmental disability and receive ODSP, you qualify for Passport Funding. If you require help applying for this funding, let us know and we can guide you through the process of applying with the DSO (Developmental Services Ontario).
